Fit

Friday Night Fights Round 2

Todd stayed close to the front all race, trying to escape once and finished 8th. That was a fast 4/5 race!

St. Francis Sports Medicine Series

Bruce soloed off the front to win the 35+ category, while Todd took two primes and finished 9th in the Cat 4 race.

Virginia State TT Championships

Dean Wagner placed 4th in the Peter Teeuwen Memorial Omnium and Virginia State TT Championships.

Friday Night Fights

Racing comes back to Gaffney, finally. Bruce put together a two race series in downtown Gaffney. There was finally a break in the hot weather, but a challenging course awaited the contestants. The front stretch was a long gradual climb to the first turn. To win, you had to be in front coming out of the final turn. The August race should be even more exciting.

Piedmont Triad

Rick bears the heat and takes 8th in the TT.

SC State TT Championship

Thea road away with the gold in the 2010 SC State TT Championship and Rick finished 8th. The winds picked up as the day went, which made for difficult riding on the TT bike.

Elberton Cup

The weekend started off great with Rick placing 2nd and Bruce 4th in the TT. In Sunday's RR, Rick placed 17th and Bruce 3rd.

Domestique Circuit Race

Thea took two premes and placed 3rd.

Paris Mountain TT

Bruce wins!!

Bruce was the quickest to the top for the second round of the series.

Deep Blue TT

Dean Wagner placed 4th in the Cat. 4 race and 6th in the Masters.

RAAM training is going great. Team 4 MIL ran a 36 hour, day-night-day training run at the end of April on the RAAM course through WV, MD, and PA.

South Carolina State Crit Championships

To top off a great season of Spring racing, Trey, Joey, Todd and Thea made their way to the state crit championships. Joey, Trey and Todd used Saturday's Ion Smackdown for a warm-up for the championships on Sunday. Saturday didn't go too well for Joey. He crashed and possibly fractured his arm. Trey went on to finish 4th.

Trey started Sunday's championship race without his main leadout man, but still had T2 as backup. On the last lap Trey positioned himself well, using other teams to pull him to a gold medal in the 4s race.

Thea was up against a tough crowd with some very strong competition. She finished 9th overall and was the 4th SC resident across the line, just missing out on a podium position.

Jennifer Walz

New Colavita South member Jennifer Walz took 2nd in her first road race. Jennifer competed in the Foothills Classic RR in Piedmont Alabama. Look for more great rides from Jennifer in the future.

Rock Hill

Trey and his favorite lead-out man Joey, with T2 as backup lined up for the Cat 4 RR. Due to the small fields, they were combined with the 50+ group. Dave Leduc kept the race exciting for everyone. You know a 4/5 group isn't going to let someone go up the road.

It all stayed together for a sprint and Trey took the win, with Joey finishing 9th.

Thea entered her second and longest race since `The Crash'. The group stayed together for a sprint finish and Thea took third.

Bruce wasn't so lucky, with a flat 15 miles out, he was able to get a wheel change, but with no help getting back, his day was done.

Joey took 2nd in the crit Sunday in another sprint finish.

Blythewood-Roubaix

This course offered some of everything. Wind, plenty of wind, hills and a section of dirt.
Anything that gain an advantage on the hills, was brought quickly back upon turning into the wind. Todd worked hard to keep Joey and Trey in position for the final sprint.
Driving to the line, Joey accelerated with Trey on his wheel, leading him to another win, with Joey right behind him in 2nd again.

Bruce continued his winning ways, taking 1st in the 35+ category.

Rock Hill is just around the corner!

Last Day at Donaldson

Today's races were a little faster than the past few there. The wind didn't help.
Everyone was trying to set Trey up for a win and to help with his omnium standing. He finished 12th in the race and 5th in the omnium. That's with skipping a race. Pretty good huh?

River Falls

Brian and Brandon make the trip to River Falls.
Brian comes home with 9th.

Donaldson Center

It was different.
One to go and the field get neutralized for the Pro1/2s and stays that way to the line. Joey has a tire going down, but no sprint, still neutralized. At the finish, it's decided to race one more lap for 2nd back, as 1st place rode away from the field. One guy is late getting the word about the additional lap and one official takes him and his bike back up the road to the group.

Then on the final meters, a huge crash takes down several riders. All the Oil Boys got through that one, with Trey squeaking out an 8th place finish.

One more week of Greenville!

Fork Shoals RR

Brian rode a strong race today taking 10th. That's very good, since he's never seen the course and didn't have time to warm-up.

Bruce "Hump" took the win in the Pro 1\2 race. Bruce and another rider went off the front with one lap to go and stayed away for the win.

Greenville Spring Training Series Day 2

Trey takes 7th today at the BMW test track.

Greenville Spring Training Series

Oil Boys go 1, 2 in the Cat 4 race.
Joey started his lead out, and then Trey blasted  past for the win. Joey had enough on the rest of the group to take second.

Earlier, Brian took 6th in the Cat 5 35+ and Brandon was forced off course due to a crash.

Police Unity Tour

Dennis is riding in the Police Unity Tour this year to honor a fallen South Carolina State Trooper.

Lance Corporal Jonathan S. Nash was killed in a motorcycle accident while escorting a memorial charity ride in memory of Trooper Hardy Godbold, when the driver of a vehicle pulled in front of his motorcycle, causing a collision.

Trooper Godbold was also killed on the same roadway during a vehicle pursuit on February 28, 1992.

Jon was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran, served with the South Carolina Highway Patrol for fifteen years and was a member of the ACE Team.

US 10k Classic

Thea Kent finishes 9th in her first US 10k Classic!!

South Carolina State RR

Huge turn-out for the state championship RR in Greenville, SC. Joey, Jae, Rick, Parker, Greg, Mike, Rusty, Trey, Scott, Todd and new member Thea Kent competed in their respective categories. The temps were lower than last year here, and that was a treat to all.

Jae and Parker came away with the bronze and newcomer Thea Kent took the gold in the Women's 1/2/3 race and the state championship.

Tour of Washington County

Dean finished 5th in the Boonsboro TT, giving him 16th overall riding solo against teams.

Iron Horse Cycling Classic

Kevin Porter finished 5th in the crit and 6th in the TT. I guess the move to higher ground hasn't hurt him.

Not a Good Combination

Following the USA Crits Speed Week has left me tired. The standing for hours has taken it's toll, but who can sit down for something like this? Watching and taking photos worked well. Not so well for my own race though.

It's good to be home.
